Farm Kitchen - Full March House English Breakfast

March House Farm best for Sunday Lunch, Full English

March House Farm has been singled out for the quality of our Roast Sunday lunches and Full English breakfasts.

Leicestershire Live, the online face of the Leicester Mercury newspaper, visited several local farm shops to review the quality of food available from their cafes.

Commenting on the March House Farm Sunday Lunch, they commented,

Between us, we tried all three of the meats, and all were equally delicious, being full of flavour, succulent and lean. The Yorkshires were huge and tasted wonderful, as did the crispy roast potatoes, which were flavoured with garlic and rosemary.

We enjoyed the accompanying dishes of cauliflower cheese and pea/cabbage/carrot mix, and we appreciated the fact we were given extra jugs of gravy.

There’s an array of homemade puddings and cakes available, which when we visited included chocolate brownie, blueberry pancakes – which the boys loved – a superb lemon meringue pie (desserts £5.95).

The service here was prompt and friendly, and we felt for the quality of food – which really has the ‘wow’ factor  –  it offered very good value for money.

In a separate article, showcasing farm shop cafe cooked breakfast offerings, the site wrote about our full english:

It soon arrived, and looked wonderful. It tasted that way, too.

There was two deliciously meaty sausages, two rashers of lovely thick bacon, two perfectly runny fried eggs (you can choose from fried, poached or scrambled)

The sautéed button mushrooms were lovely and buttery and the hash brown was crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle.

I liked the fact that the baked beans were served in a pot, so the juices didn’t run into the rest of the food, and that the cafe used tomatoes on the vine – both nice little touches which added to the presentation and taste.

The shop is open every day for visits, despite the lockdown, although we have had to close the cafe for the foreseeable future. Instead, we now have an online shop, offering free delivery for orders over £40 or a click and collect service if you prefer.
